When we go to a meeting or an event, we should ask ourselves, are we there?  Is our mind there, is our heart there?  Are we focused at the task on hand, the people there and the environment around us?  Do we know how we feel during that moment in time?  Are our ears open to listen to others, are our eyes focused on the task, is our mind not giving any presumptions and are observing the event or the task on hand?  Or are we reminiscing the past and dreaming about the future and forgot the task on hand?Or are we engrossed with our own reactions to the task on hand and blinded by our own reactions and forgot to look at the task or event in a fair manner?

 

Are we there at the moment?Are we there at the present [當下]?

 

I have often heard the importance of living at the moment[當下].  But for a long time, I did not understand the meaning behind [at the moment 當下].  It was not until one of the practices more than decade ago that I suddenly had a sudden revelation [頓悟], catching a glimpse of the understanding of [at the moment 當下].  I was so engrossed in the movements (focused on the feeling of the movements without thinking and with minimal presumptions) that I was not aware of time.  It was [at the moment], that I realized that the understanding of the daoyin practices happens only by doing and experiencing at the moment.  It is only at that moment, will you be able to feel, understand and learn.  And it is only at the moment can we make any changes and improve.  At the end of the movements, a feeling of revelation shone on me and I felt a sense of accomplishment - even though I know it was only the beginning of the path of understanding [at the moment].   

 

Below is a collection of excerpts of the teachings of [at the moment當下] over the past 20 years in the classes I went.  I took the liberty to simplify them into short phrases with minimal modifications and changes in sequences.  It is my wish to have the teachings of [at the moment] recorded and inspire those who are walking the path of enlightenment.  However, words alone are limited in guiding the path.  The best practice of understanding and walking the path of enlightenment is through constant participation, doing, feeling, learning and improving.

 

Realization of [At the Moment]

 

[At the moment] there is no past, and there is no future

The past and the future are all [at the moment]

It is [at the moment] that we observe and practice self-awareness

We observe and practice self-awareness with an unperturbed and calm attitude

It is [at the moment] that we adapt and react with positivity and completeness (圓滿yuánmǎn)

 

[At the Moment] Awareness

 

There is no past or future [at the present]

The past and the future is all [at the present]

[At the present] thoughts drift and pass like clouds

The body condition is the result of the past

Only the [heart] is [at the present]

Observe the space created by your mind [at the moment]

Observe the space created by your heart [at the moment]

And be aware of your physical condition and its space [at the moment]

Observe and be self-aware of where you are [at the moment]

 

Living [at the moments]

 

Enjoy the experiences of the [at the moments] with courage and fortitude

[At the moment] we take actions and evolve

Capturing opportunities is seizing the moments

The timing of the moments and opportunities are most rare and valuable

Time is not as important as timing

 

The moments are the opportunity to learn, grow and change

Living [at the moments] is knowing how to live

Being [at the moment] is to live

Living is [at the moment]

 

[At the moment] is contemplation plus action

[At the moment] there is no time

[At the moment] all is one and one is all

 

Knowing how to react [at the moment] is knowing what is [change]

Do not react for the sake of reacting, instead, react wholeheartedly

Look at the complete picture [at the moment] and know your role and position

 

Capture the opportunities and take the necessary actions

Do things well with completeness and thoughtfulness

Do not beg for perfection

Every participation is [at the moment]

 

Do not pursue the understanding of [at the moment]

Do not look for [at the moment] when you are at the moment

 

[At the moment] is to be self-aware

[At the moment] is to have self-dialogues with your feelings

Everything [at the moment] 

 

[I] do not exist [at the moment]

The truth [at the moment] is when I am that matter at the moment

Everything [at the moment] is me, and I am everything [at the moment]

 

Beholding [looseness], beholding [serenity], beholding [emptiness], observing the changes

Without urge for attaining any types of results

The past, present and future are all [at the moment]

[At the moment] is but eternity

Eternity is [at the moment]

 

[At the moment] recognize the results and go understand the cause

Doing the right actions [at the moment] will change the past and the future

 

[At the moment] [I] am now the real I

[I] am but Wuiji [at the moment].

我們去參加會議、活動時,我們是否真的在那裡?也就是說,你的心思有在嗎?你有「心」在那裡嗎?我們是否專注於手邊的任務,在場的人,周遭的環境?我們是否知道在那個時刻的自身感受?我們的耳朵是否敞開聽取他人的意見?我們的眼睛是否專注於眼下的任務?我們的思想是否能不帶任何預設立場的觀察整件事件?還是我們總是在追憶過去空想未來,反而忘記專注於現在?或者我們沉浸在對所有發生所產生的情緒,被自己的感受所蒙蔽,反而忘記了用圓滿的態度看待身邊所有的發生?

 

我們是否真的在於此刻?我們是否真的活在當下?

 

我經常聽到人們說著「活在當下」的重要性。但是很長一段時間,我都從未真正理解「當下」的含義。直到十多年前一次練功的途中,我突然對「當下」有了一種頓悟。當我全然沉浸在動作中,時間彷彿不復存在,只有專注於動作帶來的感覺,沒有思考,用對幾乎本能反應的動作流程引導著身體流動。就在那一刻,我意識到我們所做的所有動作都只有在做的「當下」產生的專注和體會,才能得到對導引真正的理解;唯有如此,你才能真正學習、理解和感受。只有在當下,你才能學習和改變。只有在當下,我們才有勇氣創造改變。在那一次練習的結尾,我感受著頓悟帶來的光與成就感,哪怕那只是對於學會氣機導引踏出的第一步。

 

以下是我在過去20年的學習中,關於學習「當下」的部分心得摘要。我盡可能以不加修飾的幾則短語形式呈現對於「當下」的心得。希望能藉由記錄自己體會,激勵那些同樣走在覺醒之路的人。然而,單靠有限的文字無法表達完整,唯有透過不斷參與、執行、感覺和學習,才能讓自己在這條路上不斷精進。

 

覺察當下

 

「當下」沒有過去,沒有未來

過去,未來就在「當下」

就在那一刻覺察、自覺

就在那刻以平常心覺知

就在那刻保持「圓滿」之心而去應變

 

當下覺察

 

「當下」沒有過去未來

過去未來都在「當下」

 

「當下」想法像雲飄過去

身是「過去」,心是「當下」

空間是「當下」

「當下」覺察我在哪理

 

活在當下

 

每個當下坦然去享受、去經歷

在當下圓滿行動、演進

掌握時機就是把握當下  

時間不重要而是把握「時機」難得可貴

 

可以變和改就在當下

活在當下,就是覺察自己怎麼活著

當下才有活著

活著就是當下

 

當下就是「思想」+「行動」

 

當下沒有時間,每個點跟大自然合起來

 

當下應事才懂變化

不要應付了事

當下看整體,了解我的角色,

 

把握機會,行動

把事情做好,做「圓滿」

不求讚美

每個參與是當下

 

當下不執著與當下

 

當下覺知; 覺受對話

當下是一切

 

當下不是自己

當下的真相我就是那事

一切是我,我是一切

 

守「鬆」守「靜」守「空(虛)」  而觀察變化

不急著要成果

過去現在未來 = 當下

當下是永恆

永恆的當下

 

就是認同「果」而理解「因」

當下做對的事會改變過去未來

 

當下的我是「無極」
